Shocking! Sachin Reduced To A Cameo In Azhar Biopic
Guess Ekta doesnt want the Master Blasters on-field pursuits to overshadow the former skippers journey
If you’re a cricket buff, you probably know that Mohammed Azharuddin and Sachin Tendulkar shared a great professional relationship, spanning 223 ODIs and 69 tests. We all remember how Sachin used to walk in at the fourth position in the batting order, followed by Azhar at the fifth. The two always formed the fulcrum of the team.
But surprisingly, Ekta Kapoor, the producer of the Emraan Hashmi-starrer Azhar, has decided to keep Sachins role to a bare minimum in the biopic.
Turns out, Sachin was to play a substantial role in the narrative earlier but now, he has been reduced to a cameo. The films team is looking for a fresh face to play the part.
Is this a conscious move to downplay the Master Blaster and focus on Azhars on-field glories? After all, the films director Tony Dsouza is of the firm belief that Azhar was a better player than Sachin (SpotboyE.com, May 22).
We wouldve obviously liked to see more of Sachin in the film. Who wouldnt, right?
